The pefect companion for your wellsite geologist comes in the form of Swiftdale's GEOPAKŪ
suite of programs for the Psion-II hand-held computer. These programs have been developed
in-house by Swiftdale over several years to assist the roles and responsibilities of the
geologist at the wellsite.
The Psion-II is ideal for the field, being conveniently sized and extremely robust, and
can be used almost anywhere, whether it's on the drill floor or in the logging cabin. The
GEOPAKŪ suite of programs provides the following modules:
|
|
|
|
|
|
- ELOG
- Electric log analysis program, providing all the necessary calculations to perform
'Quick-look' log analysis at the wellsite, as well as detailed analysis in the office.
- DXC
- Calculation of Corrected Drilling Exponent (dxc), and estimation of
formation gradient from dxc trends.
- GASR
- Calculation of gas ratios and their interpretation to predict
the type of associated hydrocarbon.
- KTOL
- Calculation of well kick tolerance from Formation Integrity Test (FIT) data.
- SURV
- Directional survey calculations and extrapolation between stations. This is useful for determining TVDSS for formation tops etc. Three methods of calculation can be selected: Radius of Curvature, Minimum Curvature and Balanced Tangential.
- OBG
- Calculation of a Formation Overburden gradient from log density data.
- FRAC
- Fracture gradient calculations from Leak-off test data. A variety of methods
can be used including Hubbert & Willis, Matthews & Kelly, Eaton, Anderson et Al, and
Daines Zero Tensile Stress method.
