A co-director and founding member of Swiftdale. James is a highly experienced wellsite and operations geologist coming from a mudlogging and LWD/MWD background. James has been consulting continuously since 1985.
As a director of Swiftdale he is also responsible for the day to day running of the company, including liaison with clients and subcontractors on a regular basis and obtaining new contracts. James is divorced and has three children and lives in Grantham.

Areas of Work

Iran, Iraq, Uganda, Tanzania, UAE (Sharjah and Dubai), Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Korea, Romania, Bulgaria. Other areas include French Guiana, offshore Qatar, the Congo, Pakistan, Greece, France, Algeria, Gabon, Seychelles, UK Central, Southern and Northern North Sea, onshore UK particularly Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire; onshore Thailand, Holland, Denmark, Ireland, Norway, China, Angola, Libya, USA, Kuwait and Yemen.

Relevant Experience

James has worked in almost all geological environments around the world and has a wealth of experience at the wellsite. His recent experience includes ultra deepwater exploration drilling offshore French Guiana with significant high pore pressure problems, and considerable experience drilling in fractured carbonates in Iraq. He also has experience geosteering in horizontal carbonate wells and is very knowledgeable with all aspects of the drilling business, wireline logging and many associated services, including pressure prediction in HPHT wells. James is thoroughly familiar with several wellsite log drawing packages, particularly Geo for Windows which he has given in-house courses for local staff.
